Want to bike across the country?
So a friend of mine is looking to put together a group of people to bike across the country this summer starting in Washington and going to the east coast. It promises to be an amazing trip, and I would definetely encourage everyone to consider it. If you think you might be interested contact amanda at ahs2127@columbia.edu.

Hey everyone,
Welcome back, hope you all had a great break!
Here is a quick breakdown of the email:
1) Practice Saturday
2) Super Sunday Feb. 1st @ 9am (Uris Pool)
3) Time Trials Feb. 22nd @ 9am
4) Collegiate Nationals in Lubbock Texas, April 16-19
1)We're going to have our first practice of the season Saturday @ Noon!
We'll meet on the pool deck just after noon to jump in the pool - I'll have a workout posted on the board. Pretty informal practice, just get us back, say hi, meet new members etc.
If you have questions about the season, nationals, etc. come see me! I'll be in Squash Court 1 in Dodge around 11:40! Bring questions, concerns, dues, waivers etc.
2) Super Sunday! This event will be our real kick off to the spring racing season! New members should come and check it out, meet the coach, and we’ll receive our new training plans for February. Dues will be collected Feb. 1st as well! Please bring $75 cash/check/credit – check made out to Columbia University with Triathlon in the memo.
We will go over nationals in detail on Super Sunday so all those interested are REQUIRED to attend. More details to follow.
3) TIME TRIALS!
Mandatory if you are going to attend Nationals in Lubbock Texas. This event will be run as a partial indoor triathlon. 10 minute swim followed by a 20 minute run. YOU MUST COMPETE IN TIME TRIALS TO QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS! This is a pretty big commitment for the club – we’re flying out to Lubbock so we need to make sure everyone is serious; when you qualify and commit we are going to have to collect nationals dues the same day. Cost will be $250 (or less) - this includes everything except food (airfare to Texas is $400+ so this is a great deal!). Top 14 athletes will be selected (7 guys/7 girls).
But.... even if you’re not planning on going to nationals, come out and compete or cheer on! This will be a lot of fun, can use it as a time trial or an aquathlon – great starting point for sprint/olympic tri’s in the spring.
4) Nationals – Lubbock, Texas!
April 16th-19th. We will leave Thursday, and fly back on Sunday. Race is Saturday morning. Details are being finalized but we will release a final itinerary in the next few weeks. Everyone participating will likely miss Thursday classes. Everyone who went last year had a blast — this is a really great event!
Can’t wait to see you all Saturday,
Chris
